Rosie Pape's Story

When I had been in my job for about 10 months I started to get itchy feet. I loved my work and got on really well with the team so, while I idly looked for other jobs, I wasn't really committed to it. I was asked to go for an interview at a different company but the job wasn't what I was looking for.

Out of the blue, I was contacted about a similar job to the one I was doing but with a much bigger company. I prayed about it and felt at peace to go to the interview. Everyone was very friendly, there were lots of opportunities available and it just seemed right. I accepted the job the next day.

Handing in my notice wasn't easy and my boss was upset. She told me how much I'd be missed and tried to persuade me to stay by promising me a promotion. However, I had already made the decision to leave and was looking forward to a new challenge. That's not to say I didn't have a few doubts in the back of my mind though.

I worked my notice and during my last week I noticed that my boss was uneasy and was having several meetings with the headquarters in Canada. No one else seemed to be aware of this but my suspicions were confirmed when she called people into her office and announced that the company was in financial crisis and she was forced to make several people redundant! One of those people would have been me.

So I got out at just the right time - God totally looked after me! He was the only one who knew that redundancies were about to occur and He saved me from the process. I have been truly blessed. Thank you God!
